Worthy of Admiration

I’ve been pondering on what makes a women worthy of admiration. Is it her style? Her hair? How many likes she has on Instagram? Or even how many guys fall to her feet? We all consider at least one of these factors when admiring a woman in passing. Yet what If what makes a women worthy of admiration is her ability to conquer her fears? Or build up those around her without needing recognition? What if the scale of an admirable woman was based upon how wise and hardworking she was?

Here’s my challenge... could you detect internal beauty and not just physical? Are you capable of recognizing the boldness in your friend and not just how well they dress? Would you be able to separate your friends from those who care about your wellbeing to those who solely care about how well you appear on the internet?

My intention behind all of these questions is to bring you to the real conclusion that we are quick to recognize the physical and superficial factors of our friends, but are we sharpening each other? Are we linking arms and bringing one another to a higher standard as daughters of Christ?

I love what Proverbs 31:25-26 says,

 “She is clothed with strength and dignity;

    she can laugh at the days to come.

   She speaks with wisdom,

    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

Ask yourself this: Could your friends recognize these qualities in you? Could you recognize wisdom on the tongues of your girls? Could you detect strength?

I would rather be surrounded with girls who can tell me my areas of weakness versus girls who can just compliment my outfit. I mean, don’t get me wrong being supported in a physical area is encouraging, but it’s not everything. Remember that!

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;

 but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Proverbs 31:30

You are loved!
