Kingdoms
Kingdoms. It always amazes me when I think about the concept of a kingdom. How every person would find identity in their role, but ultimately they would know who they were because of the kingdom they were a part of and the King they served. Till this day we can see the beautiful pride people take in being a part of a community that is much greater than themselves.
This caused me to think… am I a part of a kingdom? Or am I building my own kingdom? Surely if I am not a part of a kingdom I belong to another. My strength and devotion lies at the heart of another source.
You see…God built this beautiful kingdom for us to be a part of. We grow in our functions and roles within this structure and become successful. This success can either humble us or birth pride. An ugly pride that serves only to glorify self and not the King.
Take a second and reflect on whose kingdom you are building. Are you your own king? Or do you live to serve THE KING? I mean, don’t get me wrong..we all can get trapped up in the efforts of our works, yet we must contemplate on who allowed us to get there in the first place. Who gave us the role? For if we did not give ourselves the role we cannot take it away, nor can we become greater than the one who gave it in the first place.
Reflect this week on how you can make your life a ladder for others to climb up to the King. For your life to simply serve as a reflection of the greater Kingdom, which lies in Jesus.
You are a part of a beautiful Kingdom!
