Satisfied. Are you satisfied? I've wondered if satisfaction has a correlation with poverty. I mean, yes it can be found in all countries, but what if poverty just stems from lack of satisfaction. Have you ever thought other countries consider the United States as a rich country, yet at the very same time some countries make it seem as if we are poor compared to them.
What is my point? Well, evaluating this on a smaller scale I've realized if I am unhappy is it not because I lack but because I fail to see that I have. When I adjust my vision I can truly see that I have all that I need. By no means am I saying that acquiring goods means Im rich, but what I am saying is poverty is a mentality and not a state of being. I can have all the money in the world, but act as if I don't. What your bank account states does not define you, but what does is your perspective.
Again I ask... Are you satisfied? Will you ever be satisfied? The truth is we will always want more and when we get more it still won't be enough. So the problem isn't what we want its that we are unhappy with what we already have. You are the richest person alive if you are physically & mentality healthy. Anything else is just added benefit.
Don't love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never abandon you."
Hebrews 13:5
11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.13 For I can do everything through Christ,[a] who gives me strength.
Philipians 4:11-13
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
Matthew 6:25
My challenge for you is to be satisfied this week. Satisfied with the place your live in, the people in your life and the things you have, but most of all the God who loves you. When you take everything else out of the equation, you will realize that if you have Him you have everything.
You are rich!
