Emotions. I can say with full conviction that I am an emotional person. I can and will cry while watching all of my favorite movies even though I’ve seen them countless times. I will cry when I’m mad or frustrated or even when I’m laughing too hard!! Usually, these emotions affect my day or mood for the rest of the day. If I watch The Notebook, there is no doubt that my day will be consumed with heartbreak and thoughts about beautiful relationships. Even if I listen to peppy music, my emotions will change and the whole course of my day has shifted. I’ll begin to experience joy in the simple things in life. However, if I let my emotions take the wheel, I’ll allow comparison to creep in and I’ll begin to believe lies about myself.
The most evident factor in all of this is that we let our emotions dictate what we see. Our emotions take over our vision and we no longer see past this current moment. We are completely engulfed in the negative -- with no room for what God has on the agenda.
Do not let what your emotions dictate what you see. Push past this current moment – become a visionary! Trust that God can see past your present and into your future with full intention to bring you through it all.
Feeling lonely? Take a step back.. Remember what He has promised – “He will never leave you nor forsake you”! Let that which you can’t see launch you to believe that there is more than what is front of my eyes. He is passionately pursuing you! Make the effort to seek after Him. He's just waiting for you full of grace and eager to spend time with you.
You don’t feel capable? Remember that He qualifies you and equips you to do His will. His blood qualified you when He went to the cross. He made a way for us!
Brave girl, see past the now. Don’t be confined to your emotions. Be careful what you allow into your heart. What you allow in this sacred place will dictate your sight. Instead, fill your heart with that which is beautiful and joyful! Your vision will change and the impossible will begin to seem possible. Examine what you feel and adjust your vision!
You are a visionary!
